Water source, pipe sizing, and elevation changes affect the efficiency and performance of the sprinklers. Attendees will find the technicians' Guide to Irrigation Hydraulics perfect to use when figuring out problems on existing system or in the design of a new system. This workshop is filled with loads of practice sessions to using math and theory on paper to get it right in the field. Attendees should have a basic understanding of the components of an irrigation system.

About the instructor:



Kurt Thompson has been in the landscape and irrigation industry since 1982 working as a landscape and irrigation contractor-- in landscape and irrigation wholesale distribution; in irrigation manufacturing; and, in water use consulting & training. He is the owner of K. Thompson and Associates-- an outdoor water use training, evaluation, and planning consultant. Since 1988, Kurt has been educating thousands of contractors, architects, designers, and golf course superintendents. His speaking and training résumé includes many of the United States and Canadian irrigation and turfgrass associations, universities and community colleges, as well as distributors and contractors. Kurt is a contributing author of the irrigation industry's premier text book, Irrigation - Sixth Edition, a co-author of the leading resource for certification and state licensing, The Irrigation Contractor Exam Study Guide, and a subject matter expert for national certification programs and state licensing. Kurt graduated from Washington State University, and is one of only a few people in the world to hold all nine of the Irrigation Association's landscape/ golf irrigation nationally-recognized certifications. He is a Licensed Irrigation Contractor in North Carolina, Certified Site Water Planner, Florida Water StarSM Irrigation AP, and an EPA Water Sense Irrigation® Professional.
